Update

Just a bit of an update here. We're working hard on completing the project, and are into the sound - sound is so very important to a film. So sound effects, music, dialogue, score. Lots of fun and lots of work! =)

At some point in the near future we'll post up some clips so you can see and hear.

Finally !!!

Well everyone, it took a long time but the end is so close I could hit it with a bat. The end credits are being put together, the final color is being added and the sound fx are being added one, by one, by one. January 31st, 2011 is our deadline and we will be D O N E. What this means is that if you kinda want to get your name in the credits for a donation NOW is the time to donate. Don't wait, go ahead and send something in and I will see if I can gather up some merch to send you. I will post more soon but I am at the mercy of the editor himself. Until then I will just have to keep myself busy with Family Business. Did I say that out loud?

Finally !!!

Yesterday we completed the final Dirt Nap pickup shots. We worked for almost eleven hours and visited five locations over the course of the day. Yes, we even visited the famous "PLANET BURRITO." The whole film is in the can and any corrections we needed to make were made. There was one unexpected fatality; a camera lens cap was left on the roof of a truck which then fell off and was subsequently run over for two hours by traffic. I am actually surprised that after days and days of moving gear only one thing was damaged, go figure. We are mere days from finishing this project and then what can I say, "On to the next one." I am still deep in the 'budget hole' and would welcome any and all donations from anyone willing. I am sitting on a small surplus of Dirt Nap Caps and Dirt Nap T-shirts. Any donation made will get something till the supplies run out. Don't miss out, this stuff may be priceless one day and then you can say "I knew him when..."

New Work and Old Friends

Ok, I completed shooting even more footage for Dirt Nap. A little 'Steel Table' scene will be sneaking into the film. After all, what good is a kitchen scene without a stainless steel table. It was quick but not painless and I did run into two old friends that I had not seen in a while. They both informed me that if I did not at least give them an honorable mention that they would drag me through the mud so here they both are, enjoy.

And the beat goes on, the beat goes on ...

Two more hours of footage in the can. How should I say "Very Different" being in a Food Stop shooting the soda machine scene, ice and the cashier greeting Mike as he enters the store. You see I was there shooting this stuff from 11-1PM. Only five people walked in and I had the complete run of the store. For anyone trying their hand with lights or working under fluorescent lights and trying to light a person so they don't look like Undead, I came up with an easy memory jolt for myself. Two huge lights with diffusers at four feet, four huge lights at eight feet and sixteen lights at thirty two feet. Oh, and when you are not a coffee drinker like me and have to opportunity to drink free cappuccino while on set at mid-night, DON'T DO IT!
I couldn't get to sleep till after three a.m. and now I feel like an old shoe. However, the more devious side of myself came out when one lady walked in and asked what we where filming and I replied, "Shooting an episode of Cheaters, are you interested?" To which she replied, "No" and walked out rather quickly. Being bad feels so good.
